Meet the Artist

I’ve always been drawn to making things with my hands. After graduating from UNLV with a BA in Arts and a minor in Art History — where I focused on drawing and painting but discovered in a sculpture class just how much I loved building and creating with my hands — I found myself working at Starbucks, where I’d been since 2001. Like many, I graduated into the uncertainty of the 2008 economic crash. I stayed with Starbucks for years, partly because it felt safe and partly because I wasn’t sure what else I wanted to do.

But over time, I felt increasingly stuck and unhappy in middle management. I knew I needed a change.

One day, I stumbled across a jewelry artist on Instagram creating Southwest-inspired pieces, and something clicked. I thought, “I could make that!” — and in January 2015, I invested every bit of my savings into jewelry tools and supplies. I didn’t have formal training; I learned through YouTube videos, books, and countless hours of trial and error.

In the beginning, my work was heavily influenced by the vintage turquoise jewelry I loved. It felt comfortable, and I was happy in that box. But as time passed — and my own tastes evolved — I found myself drawn to new styles and influences. I wanted to create jewelry that reflected my voice: pieces that are bold and beautiful, yet clean and organic; pieces that can be dressed up or down, worn every day, and passed down through generations.

Today, my work balances artistry and authenticity. I’m deeply hands-on with every aspect of creating a piece — from melting and forging silver, to cutting and shaping a majority of the stones I use. Each design is truly fabricated by hand, ensuring every detail reflects my commitment to quality and craftsmanship.

I’m always learning, always challenging myself to try new designs and techniques. I want Mojave Moon Jewelry to reflect the values I care about most: quality craftsmanship, timeless style, and accessibility — jewelry that anyone can wear, regardless of age, gender, or personal style.

Every piece I make is a reflection of my journey — a blend of my creative spirit, my dedication to craft, and my love for the art of adornment. I hope my jewelry becomes part of your story, too.

I couldn’t do any of this without the unwavering support of my family and friends, who have believed in me from the very beginning, and to my customers — thank you for every purchase, every word of encouragement, and for allowing me to share my art with you. Your support means more to me than I can ever express.

THANK YOU!
